Chief Telecom was founded in 1991 and mainly operates data center IDC hosting, data network services, voice communication services, and cloud application services. Chief Telecom operates Taiwan's largest telecom marketplace, and is home to Taiwan's largest internet exchange (TPIX) and largest cloud exchange (CCX), bringing together major shared and private submarine cable systems as the main gateway for Taiwan's cloud services, submarine cables, and internet. Chief's international carrier-neutral IDC facilities are certified to ISO 27001 and 27011, and DCOS-4 data center standards. It provides customers with diverse international resources to meet a range of technical needs, letting customers enjoy the benefits an internet platform brings.

Chief has been actively expanding its global submarine cable backbone bandwidth, extending overseas service nodes to more than 11 countries and offering customers rental service across more than 10 submarine cable systems, with backbone bandwidth expanded to 600G. It provides comprehensive solutions and diverse partnership models for enterprise clients at home and abroad, helping them meet overseas expansion needs amid global supply chain restructuring. As a leader in East Asia's digital convergence, what pain point drove Chief Telecom to use SurveyCake, and how has SurveyCake Enterprise helped solve it?

Before SurveyCake ENTERPRISE

Q: What was your original survey method?

In the past, when making a survey, the company would list questions in a Word document and email it to internal staff to complete. For external surveys, we used paper questionnaires to ask potential customers about the service needs they required.

Later, to save time building surveys, we switched to other commercially available online form tools to collect data. While this simplified the process and saved manual labor time, it created other potential problems. For example, customer-submitted survey content ended up scattered across various clouds, and we didn't even know which regions or which company's servers that data was stored on, making it impossible to control where the data flowed, which could lead to data leakage down the line.

Q: Why did you choose SurveyCake ENTERPRISE?

How we came to choose SurveyCake is a bit different from other clients. We first approached SurveyCake about a partnership to fold SurveyCake's survey service into Chief's own cloud business application services, making it one of the services on Chief Telecom's application cloud. Because all data is then stored in Chief's own cloud, survey data storage becomes more secure.

SurveyCake stores both the survey application and the submitted data in Chief's local Taiwan data center, resolving the data leakage risk present in other commercial survey services, which is why we started using SurveyCake's survey service.

Q: Has it improved or resolved past pain points?

SurveyCake's dashboard makes it easy to build survey questions, and with multiple templates to apply, we build surveys more efficiently. In addition, the dashboard also provides complete data detail and statistical charts, making it faster and more convenient to produce reports and analyze data afterward.

SurveyCake's partnership with Chief lets survey response content be stored in Chief's own international data center, allowing data localization and on-site audits, while offering both domestic and cross-border enterprise clients a service that complies with Taiwan regulations while ensuring security. Chief can use a cloud survey while protecting customer data at the same time.

Q: What scenarios do you use surveys for?

Internally, we mainly use it for collecting employee data. Externally, we apply it to post-event customer needs surveys, and we will also use it for customer satisfaction surveys going forward.

Q: What is the most practical feature?

For us, the most convenient and best part is that SurveyCake visualizes the data, letting us see statistical charts directly in the dashboard without separately importing data into Excel and writing formulas just to produce a bar chart or pie chart. It saves a lot of time when producing reports or research findings.

Q: What has been the biggest help?

SurveyCake reduces the labor and time cost of data collection for us. In the past, running a paper survey meant printing the material for customers to fill out, and the returned responses had to be filed manually, which consumed a lot of time organizing data.

Now, with SurveyCake's easy-to-use interface, we can build survey questions with ease, and the question types are relatively simple to use and quick to pick up. Using the dashboard's data analysis features saves us the trouble of organizing and consolidating responses after collection.

Because SurveyCake is simple for respondents to use, it helps us get customer responses quickly, letting us collect not only their service needs but also understand their pain points, helping Chief plan overall product marketing quickly, along with product bundling to meet customer needs. It's a fantastic marketing tool for us.

Additionally, SurveyCake's survey data is stored in Chief's own cloud, so we can safeguard customer data even while collecting it.
